Electrical Circuits

For an electric current to happen, there must be a circuit. A circuit is a closed path or loop around which an electric current flows. A circuit is usually made by linking electrical components together with pieces of wire cable. Take a look at the YouTube clip below where two children provide information on electrical circuits. In particular the children examine and show the differences between parallel and simple circuits.

Now it is your turn to use all the information you have learnt and work through the following online game below. This game has 5 sections: what do you know about circuits, insulators and conductors, switches, changing circuits and diagrams. Each section will provide you with extended information, where you will eventually complete an activity and a quiz. Good luck!

Well done, you are nearly a circuit expert! In order for your teacher to see how much you know and understand about electrical circuits, please complete the following worksheet. You will need to print out the worksheet, and hand the completed worksheet to your teacher. Click on the PDF link to begin.
